Direct channel established between transmitter and receiver 4. No time is taken to establish the connection Select the correct answer using the code given below.

Which of the following are the advantages of packet switching? 1. Greater link efficiency than circuit switching 2. Connections are not blocked when traffic congestion occurs 3. Direct channel established between transmitter and receiver 4. No time is taken to establish the connection Select the correct answer using the code given below. Correct Answer 1 and 2

  • Packet switching refers to a set of protocols that uses a connection-less network switching approach to transmit the packets.
  • In this switching, the messages are broken and grouped into small units called packets.
  • These packets are transmitted individually across a digital network to reach its destination.

The Working of a packet-switched network is as shown:

[ alt="F1 S.B Madhu 19.03.20 D3" src="//storage.googleapis.com/tb-img/production/20/03/F1_S.B_Madhu_19.03.20_D3.png" style="width: 400px; height: 195px;">

Advantages of packet switching are:

  • Packet switching is cost-effective because switching devices do not need a massive amount of secondary storage.
  • Many users can share the same channel at the same time. This results in maximum link efficiency by making optimal use of link bandwidth.
  • Transmission delays are there but they are of small duration as compared to a circuit-switched network.
As Packet switching is implemented at the network layer, congestion can be handled. So, the connection is not blocked.

Each of the question below consists of a question and three statements number I, II and III given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statement are sufficient to answer the question. If the bus is travelling from Surat to Ahmadabad and a car is travelling from Ahmadabad to Surat, then what is the distance between Surat and Ahmadabad? I. The speed of a car is 40% less than the speed of bus. Bus started at 9 am and car started at 10 am and they meet at 3 pm of the same day. II. After travelling for 1 hour, because of traffic average speed of bus is decreased by 20% and covers distance between Surat to Ahmadabad in 11 hours. Original speed of car is 20% less than original speed of bus and before crossing bus it covered 200 km if starts 1 hour later than bus. After crossing car, bus covers remaining distance in 5 hours. III. Speed of bus is 10 km/hr more than the speed of car and before crossing car ratio of distances covered bus and car in same time was 5 : 4. Time taken by car to cover the distance between Ahmadabad and Surat is 2 hours 15 minutes more than time taken by bus to cover the same distance.
Read the passage carefully and select the best answer to each question out of the given four alternatives. By practicing mindfulness and other principles, we become more aware of and present to our fears and others fears, bearing witness as a way of healing andempowering. We see the spiritual path as intertwined with the path of social action, with contemplation and action parts of the same whole, each nourishing andguiding the other. Acknowledging that our well-being depends on others makes caring for others well-being a moral responsibility.
Through a “mindful citizen” exercise, we create a story articulating who we are as individuals who are also part of communities. This exercise helps us move beyond cynicism, complacency, and despair, instead infusing us with a sense of purpose. We embrace our gifts, resolving to do our part to promote a sense of common humanity as a means toward social justice.
With this exercise, I believe we can help students bridge their divides and replace anger and distrust with compassionate connections – just as I witnessed betweenShirley and Tiffany.
Shirley returned to class after a brief hiatus, keeping a cool distance from Tiffany. But over the weeks spent together they gradually came to know each other. They practiced seeing and listening, sharing stories so different that they felt bewildered as to how they could overcome the gap. But they found that acknowledging their differences led them to discover a place of deep connection in commonalities, such as being raised by grandmothers, and even wounds, including childhood trauma, that they never imagined existed.
In assessments of these classes, students say that these small groups become “healing communities,” where we overcome victimization and claim agency. Healingoccurs as we transcend an “us vs. them” mentality, crossing borders and forging connections. These communities show a way of reducing intergroup prejudice andfostering inclusion based in psychology research and pedagogical practice. What was the reason behind the strong connection between Shirley and Tiffany?
