A circular pool is surrounded by a 4m high concrete wall whose area is 60% less than that of the pool. Calculate the longest length of straight dive in the pool. Correct Answer 40m
Calculations :
Let the radius of the pool = R
∴ The area of the pool = π × R2
Now, Area of the pool = 2πR × 4 → 8πR = πR2 (1 - 60%) → R = 20m
∴ The longest length of the pool = 40m
