In a vapour compression refrigeration system, liquid to the suction heat exchanger is used to Correct Answer Sub-cool the liquid refrigerant leaving the condenser
Concept:
Liquid Suction Heat Exchanger
An LSHX is a counter flow heat exchanger installed between the outlet of condenser and inlet of the compressor. In LSHX the hot refrigerant at the outlet of the condenser exchanges heats with the cooled refrigerant at the outlet of the evaporator.

Advantages:
- Provides subcooling outside the condenser
- Improves cycle efficiency in some cases
- Cleans up liquid refrigerant in the suction line
- Allows use of full evaporator surface for cooling
