In the case v << c, Lorentz transformation is same as. Correct Answer Galilean transformation
Correct option-2
Concept:
Lorentz transformation:
- Lorentz transformation is nothing but a relationship between two different coordinate frames of reference that moves at a constant velocity and are relative to each other. As the name suggested this transformation was introduced by Dutch physicist Hendrik Lorentz.
Lorentz transformation has a number of instinctive features, such as the observer that is moving at different velocity may measure elapsed times, different distances, and ordering of events but the necessary conditions that need to be followed are:-
- The speed of light should be the same in all the inertial frames.
- The velocity of frame of reference relative to each other should not be negligible as compared to the speed of light in a vacuum.
- In Lorentz transformation, the space-time interval which occurs between any two events is preserved.
- In the context of the special theory of relativity Lorentz transformation is used only to relate the change in the inertial frames.
- Lorentz transformation is a type of linear transformation in which mapping occurs between two coordinates of the frame of reference that include vector spaces.
