IL-10 is one of the anti-inflammatory cytokines. It has been marked as one of the inhibitors as it limits the expression and release of proinflammatory cytokines. Some of the proinflammatory cytokine which enhance inflammation are TNF, IL-6, IL-1BETA, etc. IL-10 can regulate endogenous anti-cytokines and lower the regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokine receptors.
