P1 = Po + ρgH = 101.32 + 997 × 9.807 × 5 / 1000 = 150.2 kPa ∆V = H × A = 5 × 0.1 = 0.5 m3 Work = Area = ∫ P dV = ½ (P1 + Po )(Vmax -V1) = ½ (150.2 + 101.32) kPa × 0.5 m3 = 62.88 kJ.
