If he walks W km then he runs (10 - W) km. Time taken = 1 hr 15 mn = 1.25 hr ATQ,  W/7 + (10 - W)/12 = 1.25 Or,  {12W + 7(10 - W)} / 84 = 1.25 Or,  12W + 70 - 7W = 1.25 x 84 - 70 Or,  5W = 35 So,   W =  7 km
