- A choke coil is a device that is used in the electrical circuits to allow DC current to flow through it while blocks AC current from passing.
- A choke consists of a coil of insulated wire that is wound around a magnetic core.
- The low electrical resistance allows DC and AC to pass with little power loss but it limits the AC current from passing through it due to its reactance.
