Rajnikant sir in his struggling period was a bus conductor, At that time he paid income tax at the rate of 10%. His net income would increase by Rs. 350 if his income increased by 10% and the tax rate increased to 15%. What was Rajni Sir's income? Correct Answer Rs. 10,000

Given∶

He paid income tax at the rate off 10%.

His net income would incraese by Rs. 350, if his income increased by 15%.

Formula Used∶

Basics of percentage.

Calculation∶

Let Rajni's original income be x.

He paid income tax at the rate of 10%.

So, his net income = x - 10% of x = 0.9 x

According to question,

His income increased by 10% and his income tax increase to 15%.

So, his net income = - 15% of (x + 10% of x]

⇒ 1.1x - 0.15 × 1.1x

⇒ 1.1 (0.85) x

Now, According to question,

His net income increased by Rs. 350

So,

1.1(0.85) x - 0.9x = 350

⇒ 0.935 x - 0.9 x = 350

⇒ 0.035x = 350

⇒ 35x = 350000

⇒ x = 350000/35

⇒ x = 10000

∴ Rajni's Sir's income was Rs. 10,000.
