When a system is subjected to forced vibrations, then under steady-state conditions
When a system is subjected to forced vibrations, then under steady-state conditions Correct Answer it vibrates at the imposed frequency
Explanation:
Vibration:
- Vibration is a mechanical phenomenon, where oscillation takes place around an equilibrium point, it is a to and fro motion of an object.
- There are two basic types of vibration.
- Free vibration
- Forced vibration
- Free vibration occurs when a mechanical system is set off with an initial input and then allowed to vibrate freely.
- In the case of free vibration, the body will vibrate at its natural frequency of vibration.
- If a system or body is subjected to periodic external forces then the resulting vibration is called Forced vibration.
- when an external force is applied than the body starts vibration, and when the body vibrates with constant amplitude then we called it steady-state of vibration, now the body will not vibrate about its natural frequency of vibration, but vibrate with the frequency of applied external force which is called imposed frequency.
Important Points
In free vibration, object vibrate with their natural frequency & in forced vibration object with the frequency of excitation force i.e. imposed frequency.
