The question below is followed by two statements I and II. You have to determine whether the data given in the statement is sufficient for answering the question. You should use the data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose the best possible answer. How much time A and B together will take to complete the work? I. Profit sharing ratio between A and B is 1 ∶ 2. II. A takes 6 days to complete the whole work.
Correct Answer if both statements A and B together are needed to answer the question.
Using statement I
If the profit sharing ratio between them is 1 ∶ 2
⇒ Efficiency ratio will be 1 ∶ 2
Using statement II
A takes 6 days to complete the whole work
⇒ B will take 1/2 the time than A
⇒ B will complete the work in 6/2 = 3 days
Let the total work be 6 units
⇒ Efficiency of A is 1 and B is 2
⇒ Together A and B will take = 6/(1 + 2) days
⇒ Work will complete in = 2 days
∴ Work will complete in 2 days and both the statements are required to answer the question
