A statement is given followed by two inferences I and II. You have to consider the statement to be true even if it seems to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which of the given inferences, if any, follow from the given statement. Statement: Population of birds have declined in Berhampur after setting up of mobile towers. Inferences: Decline in bird population is desirable as they damage crops. Radiation from mobile towers is harmful for birds.

Correct Answer
Only II follows.

Decline in population of birds is a cause of great concern and undesirable. There are many ways to keep birds away from crops without taking their lives. So, inference I does not follow. And as the statement clearly says the population of birds has declined after set up of mobile towers, it means they are harmful for birds in one way or other, here, radiation. Thus, inference II follows and option 2 is correct.
