A law introduced by the British Government in India back in the 19th century is still being followed in India. In 2017, there was a widespread opposition in India against that law. Taking into consideration the popular demand of the people, the Supreme Court looked deeper into the aspects of the law and gave a judgement to scrap the said law as there is a need for change. The statements above, if true, best support which of the following assertions?

Taking into consideration the popular demand of the people, the Supreme Court looked deeper into the aspects of the law and gave a judgement to scrap the said law as there is a need for change. The statements above, if true, best support which of the following assertions? Correct Answer A law formed back in the 19th century is not relevant to the present day scenario.
As the given statements clearly put forward that the Court looked into the other aspects of the law, so we can say that the scrapping of the law was not a result of the demand of the people alone and hence, option 1 and 2 cannot be right. Option 3 is also wrong as there is no mention of what the British Government wanted in the statements and as we do not know what this law is, we cannot consider option 5 to be right. Option 4 provides an argument that the law is not relevant anymore which corresponds with the judgement of the Court that says that there is a need for change. Hence, option 4 is the right answer.
