The following question have three statements. Study the question and the statements and decide which of the statement(s) is/are necessary to answer the question. An electricity company losses 16% of the supplied electricity in power losses. Find the loss in rupees per day. Statement I: Per unit price of electricity paid by the consumer is Rs. 3.5. Statement II: Daily electricity supply from the company is 1.65 lakh units. Statement III: The cost to the company for every 15000 unit electricity losses is Rs. 14500. Correct Answer Statement II and Statement III together are sufficient to answer the question.

Statement II:

Total units lost per day can be found as (1.65 × 0.16) = 26400 units

Statement III:

Cost to the company for every 15000 unit electricity losses is Rs. 14500

∴ Cost to the company for 26400 units loss can also be found and that will be the loss in rupees per day.

Statement I is of no use as it does not gives an idea about the cost price of per unit electricity to the company.

∴ Statement II and Statement III together are sufficient to answer the question.
