Alluvial soils	It is a fine-grained fertile soil deposited by water flowing over flood plains or in river beds. Nitrogen is generally low, but potash, phosphoric acid, and alkalis are adequate.
Black soils	Chemically, the black soils are rich in lime, iron, magnesia and alumina. They also contain potash. But they lack phosphorous, nitrogen, and organic matter. The colour of the soil ranges from deep black to grey.
Laterite soils	Laterite is a soil and rock type rich in iron and aluminium and is commonly considered to have formed in hot and wet tropical areas. Nearly all laterites are of rusty-red colouration, because of high iron oxide content. Laterite soils are rich in iron and aluminium but deficient in nitrogen and potassium.
