Consider the following statements: 1. Asphalt is a naturally occurring product having a non-crystalline structure. 2. Rock Asphalt occurs in limestones or sandstones. 3. Tar is the residue left after the distillation of crude oil. 4. Resins in Asphalt provide the stickiness to the product. Which of the above statements are correct?

Crystalline Structure:
- Regular and repeating arrangement of components in a solid.
- Have a sharp melting point.
- Definite heat fusion.
- Examples include diamond
- Also called as anisotropic.
Non-crystalline Structure:
- An irregular pattern of ions, molecules, or atoms in a solid.
- Melt over a range of temperatures.
- No definite heat fusion.
- Examples include Glass and asphalt.
- Also called as isotropic.
Rock Asphalt:
- Natural asphalt consists of solid or semisolid hydrocarbons that have been formed naturally from petroleum by the evaporation of the lighter hydrocarbons and the partial oxidation of the residue.
- Asphalt rock is generally impregnated porous sandstone or limestone.
When substances of vegetable origin, e.g. coal, oil shale, peat, or wood, are heated in the absence of air (dry distillation), they decompose into gas, liquid products, and solid residue coke/charcoal.
Resins in Asphalt provide the stickiness to the product.
