The following question has three statements. Study the question and the statements and decide which of the statement (s) is/are necessary to answer the question. Find the ratio between the number of girls and boys in a school. I) There are six sections in a school. II) The average number of students in six sections of a school is 150. III) The number of students in a school is 80% more than the number of boys students in a school. Correct Answer Only III

From statement I:

Total number of sections = 6

From statement II:

Total number of students in six sections = 150 × 6 = 900

From statement III:

Let the number of students in a school be N.

Total number of boys in school = 100N/180 = 5N/9

⇒ Total number of Girls in a school = N – 5N/9 = 4N/9

Required ratio = 4 : 5

∴ Only statement III is also sufficient to answer the question.
