Permanent Settlement:
  • It is also called as Istamarari (Sthayi) Bandobast System.
  • It was introduced by Lord Cornwallis in Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, and districts of Benaras and Northern districts of Madras in 1793.
  • John Shore had planned the permanent settlement.
  • In this system, zamindars were declared as owners of the land.
