Which of the following statement is not correct about integers? I. There is no integer which can be said as the greatest. Any big integer you think of, there exists an integer greater than that. II. Zero (0) is neither positive nor negative Correct Answer Neither I nor II
Integers: The series of numbers –4, –3, –2, –1, 0, +1, +2, +3, +4 is known as Integers. Properties of integers:
- There is no integer which can be said as the greatest. Any big integer you think of, there exists an integer greater than that.
- There is no integer which can be said as the smallest. Any small integer you think of, there exists an integer smaller than that.
- For every +p in the integer series, there exists –p in it, such that (+p) + (–p) = 0. +p and –p are known as opposite of each other.
- Zero (0) is neither positive nor negative.
Hence, we conclude that both statements are correct.
