Select the correct answer using the codes given below : Correct Answer c only
Given∶
With a certain amount he buys 60 masks or 50 sanitizers.
20% of the amount he retain for fare.
He buys 25 sanitizers.
Formula Used∶
Simple concept of percentage.
Calculation∶
Niketan can buy 60 masks or 50 sanitizers.
Let the price of one masks be Rs. x.
Total amount Niketan has = Rs. 60x.
50 sanitizers costs Rs. 60x.
So cost of one sanitizer,
⇒ 60x/50 = Rs. 1.2x
20% of the total amount is retained for taxi fare,
⇒ 20% of 60x = 12x
Cost of 25 sanitizers,
⇒ 25 × 1.2x = 30x
Money left with Niketan = 60x - (taxi fare) - (cost of 25 sanitizers)
⇒ 60x - 12x - 30x = 18x
One mask for Rs.x. Therefore,18 masks can be bought with Rs.18x.
∴ Niketan can buy 18 mask. So, option 4 is correct.
