Standing on a platform, Amit told Sunita that Aligarh was more than ten kilometres but less than fourteen kilometres from there. Sunita knew that it was more than twelve but less than fifteen kilometres from there. If both of them were correct, which of the following could be the distance of Aligarh from the platform? Correct Answer 13 km
Given:
(1) According to Amit, the distance between Aligarh and the platform on which he was standing lies between → 10 km to 14 km.
(2) According to Sunita, the distance between Aligarh and the platform lies between → 12 km to 15 km.
By combining the above two statement:
The distance between Aligarh and the platform lies between 12 km and 14 km i.e., 13 km.
Hence, 13 km is the correct answer.
