Five objects A, B, C, D and E are of different weights. The weight of B is double the weight of E. The weight of C is three times the weight of A. D's weight is four times the weight of C. The weight of B is half the weight of D. Which object is the heaviest among all?

Five objects A, B, C, D and E are of different weights. The weight of B is double the weight of E. The weight of C is three times the weight of A. D's weight is four times the weight of C. The weight of B is half the weight of D. Which object is the heaviest among all? Correct Answer D

According to given information :

1) The weight of B is double the weight of E

⇒ B = 2E  ------------- (i)

2) The weight of C is three times the weight of A.

⇒ C = 3A   -------------(ii)

3) D's weight is four times the weight of C.

⇒ D = 4C   --------------(iii)

4) The weight of B is half the weight of D

⇒ B = D/2 → D = 2B     ------------(iv)

From equation 1, 2, 3, 4 the weight of objects are :

D = 4C

Putting value of C from Eq. (ii);

D = 4 × 3A = 12A

And D = 2B

Putting value of B from Eq. (i);

D = 2 × 2E

D = 4E

Now, we will get values of D;

D = 12A, D = 2B, D = 4C, D = 4E

∴ Here D is heaviest among all.

Hence, the correct answer is "D".
