Let Cost price of the article (CP) = x,

∴ Selling price (SP) = x + (22/100)x  = (122/100)x

Given,

⇒ SP = 10980

⇒ (122/100)x = 10980

⇒ x = (10980 × 100)/122

= 90 × 100 = 9000.

Therefore CP = 9000.
