⇒ Population is decreasing at 6% from 2013, in year 2015 population is 1.6 million

⇒ Population in 2015 = Population in 2014 × (100 - 6)%

⇒ 1.6 = Population in 2014 × (0.94)

⇒ Population in 2014 = 1.6/0 .94 = 1.70212

⇒ Similarly Population in 2015 = 1.70212/0.94

∴ Population in 2013 = 1.8 million
