A shopkeeper has 12 kg of pure rice and 6 kg of impure rice. He mixes both type of rice but 3 kg of the mixture gets spoiled. If he again mixes 3 kg of impure rice to the remaining mixture and sell mixture at a price 20% above the cost price of pure rice. Then what is actual profit or loss percentage if cost of impure rice is 50% of cost of pure rice.

Cost price of pure rice = Rs. x/kg
Cost price of impure rice = Rs. 0.5x
Selling price of the mixture = Rs. 1.2x
∴ Total cost price = 12 × x + (6 + 3) × 0.5x = Rs. 16.5x
∴ Total selling price = 18 × 1.2x = Rs. 21.6x
∴ Profit percentage,
⇒ × 100%
⇒ 30.91%
