There are four boxes containing 48, 80, 96 and 56 candies of mango and chocolate flavour. If the average number of mango candies in a box is 36, what is the average number of chocolate candies in a box? Correct Answer 34

Total number of candies in four boxes = 48 + 80 + 96 + 56 = 280

Total no. of mango candies in four boxes = 4 × 36 = 144

Total no. of chocolate candies in four boxes = 280 – 144 = 136

∴ Average no. of chocolate candies in a box = 136/4 = 34
