Some quantity of Dal coating of Rs. 60 per kg must be mixed with 30 kg of Dal coating of Rs. 80 per kg so that there may be gain of 20% by selling the mixture at Rs. 90. Amount of Dal which costs Rs. 60 is what percent of total mixture? Correct Answer 25%

Given,

Selling price of 1 kg Dal of mixture = Rs.90

Gain percentage = 20%

Cost price of 1 kg Dal of mixture

= (100/120) × 90 = 75

By rule of Alligation,

Ratio of two dal mixture = Amount of Dal of cost Rs. 80: Amount of Dal of cost Rs. 60

= (75 – 60) : (80 – 75) = 3 : 1

Required percentage = 1/4 × 100 = 25%
