Let the larger number be L and smaller number be S

According to question,

L + S = 62

⇒ L = 62 – S      ---- (1)

Also, 3S = L + 14

⇒ 3S = 62 – S + 14

⇒ 3S + S = 62 + 14

⇒ 4S = 76

⇒ S = 19

Now, L = 62 – S = 62 – 19 = 43

∴ L – S = 43 – 19 = 24

Hence, option 4) is correct.
