Hysterectomy, vaginal: Removal of the uterus through a surgicalincision, not of the abdomen but, within the vagina. With a vaginal hysterectomy, the scaris not outwardly visible. A vaginal hysterectomy is in contrast to an abdominalhysterectomy.
