Let, the present of the father is x year and the present of the son is y year

According to question, x + y = 50 ………… (i)

 ⇒x=50-y

When, the age of the son will be equal to the present age of the father, son's age will be x years and father's age will be (x-y+x)=(2x-y) years.

According to question,

x+2x-y = 102... (ii) 3x-y=102 3(50-y) - y = 102 [Putting the value of x] 150-3y-y= 102 150-102 = 4y 4y=48y=484=12

Son's present age is 12 years

 Father's present age is = (50-12) = 38 years

Answer: Father's age is 38 years and Son's age is 12 years.
