Let old salary of the person is Rs x.
\(\therefore\) Salary after increasement of 10% = Rs (x + 10% of x)
\(=Rs(x+\frac{10x}{100})=Rs(x+\frac{x}{10})\)
\(=Rs\frac{11x}{10}\)
\(\therefore\) \(\frac{11x}{10}\) = 154000 \((\because\) New salary is Rs 154000)
x = 154000 \(\times\frac{10}{11}\) = 140000
Thus, the old salary of the man was Rs 1,40,000.
