Total two-digit number is n(S) = 99 - 9 = 90
2-digit numbers whose units & ten’s places have same digits are 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88 and 99.
\(\therefore\) Total such numbers is n(E) = 9
\(\therefore\) P(E) \(=\frac{n(E)}{n(S)}\)
\(=\frac9{90}=\frac1{10}\)
Hence, required probability is \(\frac1{10}.\)
