Mass of the ball = 5 kg
density of the ball = 5000 kg/m3
Volume of ball = Mass/density
= 5/5000
= 1/1000 m3
The buoyant force is given by FB = V × D × g (V is volume of submerged body, d is density of fluid, g is force of gravity)
FB = 1/1000 × 1000 × 10 = 10N --- (1)
Now FB = 10x(given) --- (2)
Equating (1) and (2) we get,
10x = 10, x = 1
