1. Pinnately compound: Leaflets are present laterally on a common axis called rachis, which represents the midrib of the leaf. e.g. Cassia, Rose, Caesalpinia, Moringa, Coriandrum, etc. [Any two examples]

2. Palmately compound: In this all the leaflets are attached at the tip of petiole. e.g. Citrus, Zorina, Oxalis, Marsilea, Bombax [Any two examples] [Note: Another example of palmately compound leaf (Bifoliate) is Balanites roxburghii.]
