Lets weight of Duck = D and weight of duckling = d.
3D + 2d = 32
4D + 3d = 44
multiply first by 3, second by 2
9D + 6d = 96
8D + 6d = 88 subtract
----------------
D = 8
So 3 x 8 + 2d = 32
2d = 8
d = 4
So
2(8) + 1(4) = 20
