Correct Answer - A
(a) Bacteria reproduces asexually by transverse binary fission, conidia, budding, cyst and sporulation. No true sexual reproduction (involving formation of gametes, their fusion and meiosis)is known to occur in bacteria . However, in bacteria the transfer of genetic material from donor to recipient cell to bring genetic recombinations/variations is reportted that occurs not through gametes/sex cells, but by other methods like conjugation, transduction and transformation. It does not result in any multiplication of cells.
