Correct option is: (C) 27
Edge length of bigger cube is A = 6 cm.
Edge length of smaller cube is a = 2 cm.
Let n number of cubes of edge 2 cm can make by cutting a cube of edge 6 cm.
\(\therefore\) n \(\times\) volume of small cube = volume of bigger cube
= n = \(\frac {volume\, of \, bigger \, cube}{volume \, of\, smaller \, cube} = \frac {A^3}{a^3} = \frac {6^3}{2^3}\)
= \(\frac {(2\times3)^3}{2^3} = \frac {2^3 \times 3^3}{2^3} = 3^3 = 27\)
Hence, total 27 cubes can be formed
