বর্ষাকালে বায়ুতে জলীয় বাষ্পের পরিমাণ বেশি থাকে । বায়ুতে জলীয় বাষ্প বেশি থাকলে বায়ুর ঘনত্ব কমে যায় , ফলে শব্দের বেগ বেড়ে যায়। তাই বর্ষাকালে জোরে শব্দ শোনা যায়।
