Correct Answer - C::D
Alkyl fluorides are synthesised by alkyl chloride/bromide in presence of `CoF_(2)` or `Hg_(2)F_(2)`. Only transition metal fluorides react with alkyl chloride/bromide to form alkyl fluorides. Alkali metal fluoride such as NaF and alkaline earth metal fluoride such as `CaF_(2)`, do not react to form fluorides.
Note The reaction is termed as Swarts reaction in which alkyl fiuorides are synthesised by heating an alkyl chloride/bromide in the presence of AgF, `Hg_(2)F_(2)`, `CoF_(2)`.
