Burning magnesium continues to-burn in nitric oxide, while burning sulphur is extinguished. Why ?

The heat produced by burning of magnesium is quite sufficient to decompose nitric oxide into nitrogen and oxygen. The oxygen so obtained supports combustion, but the burning of sulphur does not decompose nitric oxide hence it is extinguished.
