Explanation :

Decomposers are saprotrophic micro organisms which feed on dead bodies of organisms and organic wastes of living organisms. They are also called detrivores. They bring about mineralisation i.e., the digested form of organic matter is partly absorbed by micro organisms for their own assimilation. The remaining adds raw materials and minerals back into the substratum. The phenomenon is called mineralisation.
