Explain briefly the three Processes due to which generation of emf takes place in a solar cell.

(i) When light falls at the junction, electron-hole pairs are generated.

(ii) The electron and hole move in opposite direction due to junction field. Electrons move towards n-side and holes move towards p-side of the junction.

(iii) The two sides of the junction become oppositely charged and a potential difference is developed across the junction.
