Necessary conditions for national parties:
(i) Secure at least 6%, of total votes in Lok Sabha or Assembly elections in four states.
(ii) Should win at least four seats in the Lok Sabha.
(iii) They should have influence in more than three seats.
Example : INC, BJP, CPI (M), CPI, NCP and BSP.
