Yes, the given statement is true. This is because ∆G=∆H-T∆S. For exothermic reaction ,∆H is –ve. If T∆S is +ve (i.e., entropy factor opposes the process) and T∆S>∆H in magnitude, ∆G will be +ve and process will not be spontaneous.
