Addition Polymerisation Condensation Polymerisation
(i) Monomers are unsaturated molecules (i) Monomers have di or polyfunctional groups.
(ii) Involves chain reaction (ii) Does not involve chain reaction.
(iii) Formed by adding monomers to a growing chain without loss of any molecules. Examples: Polyethene, Polystyrene, Teflon etc. (iii) Monomers combine together with the loss of molecules like H2O, NH3, etc. Examples: Terylene, Bakelite, Nylon-66, etc
