Peritoneal carcinomatosis is intraperitoneal dissemination of any form of cancer that does not originate from the peritoneum itself. PC is most commonly seen in abdominopelvic malignancies. Computed tomography is particularly important for detailed preoperative assessment and evaluation of the radiological Peritoneal Cancer Index.
