In an ordinary year, there are 365 days and on dividing 365 by 7,
- We get remainder = 1 so this extra one day is taken as odd day.
Similarly, in an leap year, there are 366 days and on dividing 366 by 7,
- we get remainder = 2 so this extra two days is taken as odd days.
Thus, the remainder, which we get after dividing the number of days by 7 is considered as odd days.
Given 16th April 2021 was on a Saturday.
- Number of days in month of April = 30 days
- Remaining number of days in month of April after 16th April = 14 days.
- Number of days in month of May = 31 days.
- Number of days until 3rd June = 3 days
∴ The total number of days = 14 + 31 + 3
∴ The total number of days = 48
⇒ The number of odd days from 16th April 2021 until 3rd June 2021 = 48 ÷ 7 = 6 odd days
∴ 16th April 2021, it was Saturday + 6 odd days = Friday.
∴ Here, Amit's wife's birthday on 3rd June 2021 is 'Friday'.
Hence, the correct answer is "Friday".
