The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is responsible for the development, maintenance and management of National Highways in the country. National Highways are the arterial roads of the country for inter-state movement of passengers and goods.
- National Highway 8 (NH 8) is a 4-lane (6-lane in most parts) National Highway in India.
- It connects the national capital Delhi to the financial capital Mumbai, as well as important cities Gurgaon, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Beawar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Nadiad, Anand and Kheda.
There is a total of 20 national highways with a total stretch of 6373 kms in Rajasthan including NH-3, NH-8, NH-11, NH-12, NH-14, NH-15, etc.
