Option 4 : (A), (B) and (C)
All the given statements ie (A), (B), and (C) are correct about the balutedars of Deccan.
- The village servants were primarily artisans and formed an important section of the rural society in Deccan. They were called balutedars and their income, which was a share in the agricultural produce, was known as balutas.
There were two kinds of balutedars:
- Watandar balutedar:
- The nature of service of the watandar baluta was hereditarily fixed and they had a permanent right to work.
- Generally they enjoyed monopoly over their respective occupations.
- They received various remunerations in the village like baluta remuneration (given in cash or kind), additional remunerations in cash or kind called hakk and revenue free inam lands.
- Upari balutedars:
- They were employed on a temporary basis either to support the existing balutas or provisionally work, in case, a watan baluta migrated or left the village.
- They had no permanent rights in the village and were migratary.
-
They were also not entitled to revenue free inam lands.
Hence, we can conclude that all the statements A), (B) and (C) are correct about the balutedars of Deccan.
