The statement given by the West Bengal Government was - "It has been found on earlier occasions and recently that several satellite TV channels are transmitting coverage of news and incidents in such a manner which are misleading, sensationalized and having communal tone and are likely to cause a breach of peace in the State and all of which appear to be violative of the Program Code as defined under Section 5 of the Cable Television, Networks (Regulation) Rules.'
